Why Indeed Happy?
This site is dedicated to contributing to the happiness of individuals on the Autism Spectrum and that of their family, friends and Caregivers. I have used the expression Indeed for many years but I did not think about the word much until I began a relationship with a very good friend of mine. Dictionary.com defines [in-deed] /ɪnˈdid/ adverb. 1. in fact; in reality; in truth; truly (used for emphasis, to confirm and amplify a previous statement, to indicate a concession or admission, or, interrogatively, to obtain confirmation): Indeed, it did rain as hard as predicted. Volcabulary.com says Happiness is that feeling that comes over you when you know life is good and you can’t help but smile. It’s the opposite of sadness. So I must apologize for the Web Site Grammar mash-up – Adverb and Noun (YIKES!). As I have a bachelor science of Economics degree I tend to think of life as an equation that we are constantly trying to solve and that we are striving for equilibrium. For me happiness is a temporary state and can be influenced by many factors. I strive to be happy, but I know it is not always possible to be happy nor should we be happy all the time – let’s be honest bad or sad things happen in our lives. For many individuals on the Autism Spectrum we may never absolutely know if they are happy but that does not mean we should not strive to be forces for good for them as they journey through life.
