Hello: I am Paul Joseph Gallagher III (AKA PJ). I was born in Bryn Mawr Hospital on the 21st of September 1966. I am the oldest of three children. My Parents are Paul J. Gallagher Jr. and Maxine M Gallagher (AKA Max). I have two wonderful younger sisters Kathleen Anne Gallagher (AKA Katie) and Maureen Patricia Gallagher (AKA Moe). You will have to ask my dad what his nickname was as a child :-). I was blessed to be married to my late wife Janet for 20 years. I have a wonderful 23 year old son Joey who was diagnosed with Autism a little before his third birthday. I am presently a Director at Prometheus Digital.
I have lived in seven states ( Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Ohio, New York, Georgia, and Virginia). Presently, I reside in Lorton, VA. I have visited 35 U.S. states and 25 countries around the world.
I attended Villanova University on a Navy Reserve Office Training Corps Scholarship. In 1988, I graduated from Villanova University with a B.S. in Economics and received a commission as a Supply Corps Officer (I wanted to be a Radar Intercept Officer – Like Goose from Top Gun because I do not have 20/20 vision and could not be a Navy Pilot. If we meet, and you do not know the story, ask me how I ended up as a PorkChop…).
While at Supply Corps School I interviewed and was selected to work at Naval Reactors (NR). During my tour at NR, I applied to University of Maryland’s Masters in Business Administration (MBA) part time program and earned my MBA in Finance in 1993. I decided to put my MBA to use and left the Navy in January of 1994 and began a career in Consulting that same month as a consultant with KPMG Peat Marwick. KPMG Peat Marwick spun off KPMG Consulting 2000 and went public in 2001, and later was renamed BearingPoint. In 2002 I became a Managing Director at BearingPoint. In 2009 when BearingPoint went bankrupt and was purchased by Deloitte, I joined the firm as a direct entry Principal. In 2017 I decided to retire from the fast paced world of consulting so I could focus on Joey’s transition to his next chapter. After enjoying the Summer of PJ (Seinfeld fans remember the Summer of George) my good friend, former colleague, and Prometheus Co-Founder Rich McCarthy asked me to join Prometheus to help with a “Difficult Client”. As the other Co-Founder was mentor Beth Smith, how could I say no. Also, I am too young for the free healthcare so I rejoined the work world, just at a much better pace. In addition to my Prometheus role, I presently actively serve two charities Samaritan Inns https://www.samaritaninns.org/ and CRI https://mycri.org/ by working on their boards and serving on the Development Committees.
